The School House

The School House is a very large restored building which also houses our art school. Situated next to the Pool house the School house sleeps between 7-14 comfortably. An exceptionally large town house one gets an immediate feeling for the space. With a large courtyard on the ground floor guests can enjoy some al fresco dining, painting or some quiet reading under the 150 year old olive tree. There are a further 3 large terraces and courtyards, with the top floor terrace housing the swimming pool. With spectacular views across Olhão the roof terrace allows people to swim, sunbathe and of course admire the Moroccan style flat roofing that you see all across Olhão, a perfect place for sun down.

There is a very large sitting room on the ground floor which has plenty of space for relaxing, playing games, or entertaining. The kitchen is off the sitting room and is fully equipped with all the necessary utensils for home entertaining or family BBQ’s. There is a large double bedroom on the ground floor which has an en-suite shower room. There are 2 further double bedrooms on the first floor and a twin room, all with en suite bathrooms with baths and showers. Across the terrace opposite the art studio is a very quiet double bedroom which has its own private courtyard and bathroom with shower. A further flight of stairs leads you to the top floor where you will find the swimming pool and a further 2 twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

The school house is ideal for groups that either know each other or for people that have never met as there are both sociable areas as well as plenty of other space and privacy for those who would like to retreat to a quiet spot and read or paint. A maid comes into the house every morning to serve breakfast and clear away for those who are on the art course, and she cleans the rooms during breakfast. The house provides both bath and swimming towels for guests and there are hairdryers in each room. We do not supply soap or shower gel so please remember to pack these on your trip. There is a modern supermarket 5 mins walk away from the house. The seafront is also a 5 min walk as are the shops and cafes.

The school house is fully equipped with BBQ, tables and chairs, sun loungers, a fully fitted kitchen, a washing machine and dish washer.

Transport to Olhão & Extra Information

Olhão is only 25 mins by car to Faro airport. There are regular train and bus departures to and from Faro daily and taxis from Faro cost approximately 20 Euros. Art In The Algarve can help arrange your transfers and we will discuss this with you at the time of booking.
