Trevor Harwood
As a self-taught artist, Trevor has painted since childhood exploring drawing, watercolour and oil painting. He discovered pastels later and this particular media lit a fire in him that he had never experienced bringing a real urgency and vitality to his painting releasing an energy he did not know he had.
He enjoys several approaches to his art depending on his mood. From a traditional style, to a semi-abstract “fragmented” style, maybe some impressionist views and even towards abstract styles. He believes art and all its forms should be fun and tries to instil an essence of this into all his tutoring.
He undertakes commissions and runs painting holidays overseas and residential workshops in the UK. He also teaches workshops for all ages from his purpose-built studio, give demonstrations, workshops and talks and teaches local art groups on a variety of topics and in any media although he does still favour pastels at present.
He is a Professional Advisor for the Society for All Artists, an Associate Member of the Guild of Essex Craftsman, a Director of the Foundation of Essex Arts, a Member of the Southend Art Group and a Member and Treasurer of the Brentwood Art Society.
