Hugo Grenville

Hugo Grenville
Hugo Grenville was first a soldier, then an art dealer, before becoming a full time painter in 1989. Since first exhibiting in London in 1974, Hugo has held 14 one man shows (the majority with Messum’s in Cork Street), establishing a reputation as a leading colourist. His first solo show in New York was premiered in 2006. His work hangs in private and institutional collections around the world. He is currently represented by Wally Findlay Galleries in the USA, and Josie Eastwood Fine Art in the UK.
Major Commissions have included working in Bosnia as an official war artist, in an iron foundry for the Millenium Project, at the English National Opera and painting protraits of leading figures including the late Archbishop, Lord Runcie.
Hugo has taught since 1990 and is passionate about inspiring others to paint. He strongly believes that it is as valid a way of communicating as it always has been. He contributes regularly to the Artist Magazine.
