Art Exhibition Alberto Ramirez Capmany

An Exhibition of the Paintings of
Alberto Ramirez Capmany
From 1959-2009
At the Art Bar, Olhao
June 7th- July 12th

Alberto Ramirez Capmany was born in Mexico City in 1930. In 1957 he met Mimi Fogt, a French painter who was living in Mexico at the time.
Alberto and Mimi went to live in New York in 1958 where they formed a close friendship with Marcel Duchamp.
Coming to Portugal on a holiday in 1967 they decided to make the country their permanent home from 1968, living in the Sierra of Sintra, Colares (A Reliquia), Cascais and finally in the Algarve.
Capmany is both a sculptor and painter, and this exhibition focuses mainly on his paintings of the landscapes of Portugal and Mexico. His work captures the feel of the Portuguese countryside, and his personal perception brings out the nuances of colour and detail observed from the hills surrounding him. While the paintings portray the great vistas seen around, there is also a subtlety and magical quality.
The paintings below can be seen at the Art Bar in Olhao, which is open Monday to Saturday from 4 pm. ART BAR, AVENIDA 5 DE OUTUBRO, OLHAO (PARK BETWEEN THE MARKET AND THE FERRY) For details of prices see the attachments in this email.
